Professionally, I couldn't be happier—I'm part of an amazing team and work for one of my favorite magazines. I adore my job, but it often requires on-the-spot thinking, which can be stressful. I've found that pursuing interests outside the office helps me feel confident and inspired to tackle any challenge.
Recently, that inspiration has stemmed from my desire to learn Italian—not only because a friend planned her wedding in Italy, but also because it's helped me discover my heritage on a deeper level. Each week, I've been meeting with an Italian tutor at various spots throughout New York City. She’s helped me bring fresh perspective to a host of topics—from fashion and culture to food and beauty!

The ups and downs that life tosses at us are meant to be growing experiences that help shape who we are, but letting those lessons take course is not always easy. To get through it all I try to keep a positive outlook and think of all the great experiences I have had, and know that another one is just around the corner.
Staying confident is important so I try not to miss my weekly yoga and spinning classes - also a great de-stressor! Through it all I try to keep a sense of humor, make sure I am surrounded by friends and just take it all in stride.
We all have days where the sun is shining bright and we walk with a little pep in our step. Unfortunately, we also have those not-so-fabulous days when it requires a little more effort to embrace our surroundings and our wonderful selves.
Luckily, life is all about balance and finding the confidence to appreciate the contributions (both big and small) that we make to the world to each and every day. Remaining confident with who I am, on both the good days and the bad, is an essential part of building a happy life. By surrounding myself with good people, I gain a positive perspective that reinforces the fact that my friends and family love me for who I am — which definitely boosts my confidence! We are all wonderfully complex, and I utilize fashion as an outlet to channel my uniqueness through my personal style.
Some days I feel kind of edgy and wild like a rock star, and other days I feel more free-spirited and bohemian — and I use my clothing to express that. The best part is that no matter what my style preference that day, I find the confidence to pull it off!
